Dressfo top* // Dressfo trousers* // New Look heels // New Look Clutch // Accessorize ear cuff
I have been looking at culottes and wide legged trousers for a really long time but never got around to buying a pair. This is mostly because I was scared that they would actually make me look like a potato wearing a sack! But upon trying on these striped pants* from Dressfo, I think that I have been converted.
When looking for a pair of wide fitting pants I would suggest going for ones that are high-waisted, straight-legged and hip hugging so you don't look like you're drowning in fabric. In my opinion the best lengths are either below the knee (culottes) or ones that stop at the ankle like the ones I'm wearing. Busy prints usually get a big fat NOPE from me but I think that vertical stripes look lovely and can even create the illusion of longer looking legs. My favourite thing about these pants are the slits at the sides which help to break apart the amount of fabric.
Since the pants are loose fitting and patterned I decided to go for something that was simple and tight and this white spaghetti strapped cami top* from Dressfo was what I was looking for. I am in love with the cross over detail at the front as it adds a little something special to the somewhat plain top.
To complete the outfit I wore my trusty New Look block heels which have the perfect height. In my opinion heels and wide pants go hand in hand together as flat shoes can make you look a bit frumpy. This clutch is one of my favourites and I always find myself reaching for it. The final touch is this gorgeous ear cuff from Accessorize that is actually really painful to wear but beauty is pain...right? I didn't manage to show it that well in the photos so you can check out my December favourites to get a closer look.
I know that wide pants are not everyone's cup of tea but when you pick the right, fit, pattern and length they can be a really flattering addition to your wardrobe.

I'd never been a fan of palazzo pants... Until this post! Really, you pull off this look so well. These trousers are amazing, I love the stripes and the colours of them. You were right to wear them with heels, it elongates the legs in a really nice way. Now I want to look for high waisted palazzo pants myself! :D
